We were taken around the city and up into the nearby resort area of Gulmarg one day. Before cars it would be easy to argue the case for Kashmir being one of the most desired spots on earth. Even today, once outside of the heavily polluted city centers, it has a mystifying beauty. The mix of old and new is always a fascination for me.
